Privacy Statement
The Jack Brockhoff Foundation ("The Foundation") collects, stores and uses some personal information so we can help those in need. Our actions on privacy are governed by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth).
Collection of Personal Information
We only collect and store information that is necessary for us to process funding applications and to record the benefits delivered as a result of our funding.
Where a party requesting funding supplies personal information about prospective recipients of funding benefits or those who have benefited from the services of the organisation requesting funding from us, we assume that the organisation complied with privacy law and is legally empowered to pass this information to us.
We specifically request an acknowledgment on the Checklist on the Grant Application Form that funding requestors be clear on privacy related matters and their obligations to their clients when submitting applications to the Foundation.
Further, we expressly discourage and strongly recommend against organisations or individuals submitting personal information, particularly that of a sensitive or medical nature to us, via our website, other websites, the internet or email.
Use and Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to other parties that we have asked to consider the co-funding of a funding request, or where the funding requestor has requested funding for one or more purposes from multiple parties that include the Foundation. We only disclose personal information where the funding requestor has given consent. We will disclose personal information where we are legally required to do so by law.
We may also disclose personal information to promote and explain the benefits that The Jack Brockhoff Foundation helps to deliver to encourage others in the community to participate in philanthropy. We will only do this where the funding requestor has given such consent and confirmed to us that it has obtained the necessary consents from other persons concerned.
In order to provide our services we may need to disclose personal information to consultants, contractors, suppliers, volunteers, directors, accountants, lawyers, auditors and others. We take reasonable steps to ensure these parties are bound to privacy and confidentiality obligations in relation to personal information and that it is only used for the specific purpose for which we supply it.
Protection of Information
Personal information of a sensitive nature is stored securely and can only be accessed by the authorized officers of the Foundation. When information is no longer required it is destroyed appropriately.
Accuracy of Information, Access & Correction
We may change our privacy notice at any time without notice.
On request, subject to the exceptions prescribed by the National Privacy Principles, an individual will be provided with access to their personal information and allowed reasonable opportunity to correct any inaccuracies or out-of-date information.
